I saw this description right around the time when I wrote about the post about the stresses that mounting from the ground applies to your horse’s back; I simply forgot where I’d seen it. I’ve not yet tried this, but it is intriguing to read that when you become proficient at this method, you can actually mount without a girth! This seems to be a good way to make mounting a more comfortable experience for your horse.
