California Chrome Second in Dubai World Cup

Prince Bishop surged ahead to displace favorite California Chrome by three lengths in the 2015 Dubai World Cup, the World’s richest horse race with a purse of $10 million.

Ridden by William Buick, the 8-year old gelding trailed the field early before running wide to seize the lead at the top of the stretch. Buick said:

“He has a very unorthodox way of racing so I took him out of the kickback in the back and when I got onto California Chrome’s tail, he picked up the bridle and listen, he ran on well in the end. He likes the surface now that he has the experience. He is better than he was. This is just nuts.”

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who owns Prince Bishop donated his share of the winning purse ($6 Million) to the Dubai Autism Centre.
