Trust a mare to understand social distancing. Trust a hungry mare to enforce it! Zelda has always been fiercely protective of her food. Curly must know it by now, but every day she tempts fate and inches close enough to grab a few mouthfuls of alfalfa hay . . . or dives in to check that Zelda has finished every mouthful of her soaked beet pulp and ration balancer. I mean, seriously? It’s not like Zelda gets something super delicious to eat.

Personally, I would not want to be the creature that Zelda charges at, teeth bared. I’d happily keep at least six feet away.
