It’s Burghley time and for those of us not able to attend in person, Burghley TV offers fantastic coverage. For just £20, a little over $26, you get to see each rider over every phase, plus enjoy the course walk with designer Derek di Grazia.

After the first two days of dressage, Ros Canter is sitting in the top two spots. Yesterday she scored 19.8 Izilot DHI and today she posted a 22 on her Olympic horse, Lordships Graffalo. Tim Price and Vitali currently sit in third place with 22.3.
Tomorrow is XC day. Burghley is rightly considered to be the toughest cross-country course in the world, and this year’s version is no exception. Horse and Hound magazine invited William Fox-Pitt to walk their readers through some of the fences. Knowing that William is 6’5″ gives you some perspective on just how big these fences are! His analysis of the angles, the footings and how to approach these fences adds a great perspective. I’m going to keep his commentary in mind when I watch tomorrow.
I can’t wait to watch tomorrow and hope all the horse and rider teams return safe and sound.
