Coming out of the starting gate a Thoroughbred racehorse will accelerate to 40 mph in 6 strides! By comparison a Ferrari accelerates from a standing start to 60 mph in 5 1/2 seconds; a horse can reach 42 mph in 2 1/2. A quarter horse is likely to be even faster — they have been clocked at between 47 and 52 mph!
That’s not a Ferrari… it’s a Porche. But still really cool fact!
Ah well, it’s a generic fast car. I guess you can tell that I don’t have either a Ferrari or a Porche!
I don’t think many of us horse people do. I would rather spend that money on my horse! LOL I have a hubby though that would beg to differ.
