Update: someone who speaks French fluently enough to understand the commentary has reported that this was a costume class. When the rider said he had none, the judge suggested he ride in the nude. So he did!

I was impressed with the helmet! I tried hard not to worry about, for his sake (or think about, for mine) “whiplash”.
