This kid must have started dressage in utero! Just six years old Dylan Phillips and her pony Rusty tied for first place at this competition. So nice to see such a nice, happy looking pony and a kid who is already a nice, sensitive rider!

Now THAT’S a million dollar pony. And that child is on the correct diagonal the whole time. Heartwarming.
Beautiful! Such steady lower legs (especially given the rider’s short legs, and a Shetland’s natural belly bulge that would be popping that lower leg out right and left with every trot stride) and it’s also clear how hard Dylan has worked not to ride off the hands. A million dollar pony, indeed! Love it.
If you were to take a Shetland and make them into a larger horse, keeping the same confirmation proportions, it would be an eyeful how difficult that horse would be to ride correctly! 😉
