Congratulations to Tim Price and Ringwood Sky Boy

NOTE: I forgot to publish this, so this info is from last weekend. After taking the lead during the cross country phase of Burghley, Tim Price and Ringwood Sky Boy held on for the win with a score of  27.3, ahead of last year’s winners Oliver Townend with Ballaghmor Class on 31.9 and New Zealand’s Andrew Nicholson and Swallow Springs on 32.1. All three top finishers are Irish Sport Horses — a real promotion for the breed.

Tim Price and Ringwood Sky Boy
“It’s tough to crack the showjumping on that particular horse — he throws his heart over first, and sometimes his head gets left behind. It’s a challenging course, and Oz had given his all the day before and we really needed to work for that.”

Price was one of only three horses who went double clear in showjumping — out of 39 competitors. He’d come into the last phase with just over half a point advantage so had no margin for error. Ringwood Sky Boy, while he made the cross country phase look easy, does not have a good record in show jumping. Out of the nine 4* events he’s completed, he’s only jumped clear once before. But he made it count today.

Here are his cross country and stadium rounds.

This video is mostly a helmet cam ride along with Tim Price. You have to click through to Facebook to watch it but it’s worth it.

  1. Hi Guys
I have published the full schedule of events for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon starting next week.
I have also included a few links where you can get all the TV times in the UK and USA, as well as a few websites that will be streaming most of the events.
So it’s pretty much all you’ll need to keep up with the action. I hope that helps ease some of the FOMO
Here is the link, it’s yours to use as you please
