Forget Rolex. Forget Badminton. Eventing is going virtual with an international 5* event which will raise money for medical charities.
Organized by Rachel Wakefield, of Uptown Eventing, the event is scheduled for May 6-10th and will be live streamed on the Virtual Eventing 2020 website. The event will feature all three phases, as well as a trot-up “as you’ve never seen before”.
The riders have ridden and videotaped CCI5*-level tests which will be judged live by top FEI dressage judges have been booked to judge riders’ CCI5*-level tests. The cross-country and showjumping phases will comprise a number of challenges for the riders but on foot rather than horseback.
The competition includes an all-star global line up with over 50 world-class riders from a dozen countries including; William Fox-Pitt GB, Boyd Martin USA, Gemma Tattersall GB, Laura Collett GB, Megan Jones AUS, Joe Meyer NZL, Joseph Murphy IRL and Carlos Paro BRA.



Team USA will be supporting the United Nations Foundation which powers the World Health Organization, who are currently supporting the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
The website will also feature a virtual shopping village, with a range of offers and discounts available, and many retailers have agreed that a percentage of profits will go to the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 emergency fund.
This is such a great idea! It’s nice to see the sport finding ways to be resilient through all of this.
Absolutely. I think it’s great how many “big names” are participating. I hope they are able to raise a lot of money.
