Courtney King-Dye out of coma, making progress

Dressage rider Courtney King-Dye who was in a coma after her horse fell on March 3 is awake, alert, talking and even standing for short periods of time.

According to a recent post by trainer Lendon Gray on her Facebook page,

“Just got back from an wonderful afternoon with Courtney. She is totally alert, funny, serious, inquisitive. She asked about her horses, her students and various irrelevant things. We talked about the amazing support she has had from so many people around the world and she had trouble believing this.”

It’s also reported that King-Dye can stand for up to 6 minutes with limited support.

King-Dye suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of the fall and was in a coma until March 30th.
