On Monday I was schooling for the hunt. In my warm up rides I generally do a few transitions from canter to gallop and back to make sure I have brakes and then hop over a few fences. If I find I’m having problems I want to make sure that I fix them at home before adding the adrenalin of hunting to the mix.
This week he was great. After warming up I jumped a course of about seven fences and he nailed every single spot. The canter was good, his attitude was good and the jumps felt great.
The feeling you get when it’s so perfectly easy is just amazing. I don’t know why jumping seven perfect fences can make you feel so good but it does. And it lasts for the rest of the day.
