An angel and her horse Liz GoldsmithCommentary, equine art, Vintage postcardsDigital Collage, Victorian postcard, Vintage postcard, woman and horse2 Comments This image came from an old and tattered postcard. The woman, dressed as an angel had feathery wings that were hand tinted and overdrawn with oranges and reds. It's hard to tell with a postcard this old how much of the coloration was original hand tinting and how much was added over the decades. I gave our angel and her horse a more exotic and dreamy background to match her wings. Share this:ShareTwitterFacebookEmailLike this:Like Loading...

I think it is gorgeous. Does it state on the card who the original artist is?
Thanks! The early Victorian postcards don’t have any information about the person photographed. I took the image and then made a digital collage using textures and other images. This particular image looks like it was hand tinted originally and then someone else drew on it later. It’s kind of cool to think about the different layers of artistic expression!
