Prancercise your way to fitness

Who knew that pretending to be a horse could be the key to fitness? Probably every person reading this blog used to trot and canter as a child, but did we understand that we needed to prance?

Allegedly a real product started by Joanna Rohrback, it’s hard to believe that the My Little Pony workout is more than just a joke, but hey, you too can strap weights on your ankles “like a real horse” and channel your inner Big Lick Walking Horse!

In the video,  Rohrback demonstrates the four modes of Prancercise, which is described as a “springy, rhythmic way of moving forward, similar to a horse’s gait and is ideally induced by elation.” The gallop is the best.

If the video isn’t enough for you, there’s always the book.

Remember, laughter is the best medicine.  Just make sure you do your prancing in private because even your horse might find fall over from laughter.

Oh yes, and don’t watch this video while drinking any liquids if you value your keyboard!

  1. Oh. My. Bwahahahaha. Hudson would cover his eye with a hoof if I did that. Who knew mincing could me an exercise? (You know it’s bad when even I could not find a self-respecting flaming queen who’d be caught dead doing this! I interviewed…)
