This silver pendant was cast from a silicone mold of a vintage button. It’s available from The Horse and Bird on Etsy
I came across this Etsy seller, The Horse and Bird, and had to share. The owner and designer, Rachel Ingalls, uses silicone molds to fashion pendants based on vintage buttons. They are available in silver and copper and are very reasonably priced, ranging from the low $20s to the high $40s.
My biggest question is which one to get first. They are reminiscent of ancient Greek or Roman coins made into jewelry, but for a fraction of the price.
On her Etsy page she writes,
Horses have been a huge part of my life. I have trained and owned horses for two decades, and when I’m not creating my art, I relish the time spent with my wonderful Friesian Sport Horse, Cody. Riding him on a beautiful, warm day surrounded by the goings-on of nature–it doesn’t get any better.
Here’s one of the pendants in copper.
My copper and silver vintage button replica line features horses, birds and other nature themes, but if there is something specific you’d like to see, please convo me and I will do my best to make it happen. I currently work in bronze, copper, fine silver, sterling silver and accent gold. Quality, comfort, beauty and durability are my priorities.
Hi! If you like those, then you should look into the ones by RQP (http://www.etsy.com/shop/RQPStudio), she uses vintage French and British stamps to make jewelry out of Silver and Bronze.
I am looking for a way to spread the word about this horse movie that needs help getting made. I do not get anything in return, I am just a supporter and appreciate the work this horseman is doing in helping others find a way to work with horses better in a calm way. My husband & I have just attended one of Marks horsemanship clinics in NC.
I know you have lots of followers who also share our interests. Perhaps you might know where they can get some funding support as well?
The proceeds of the movie will benefit horse rescues as well.
Please check out this project to get a horse movie made. There is only 9 days left to get funding.
The novel is by Horseman Mark Rashid and he is trying to get funding to make the movie as he wrote it. See the trailer and story here and please donate and pass along to other horse groups or anyone interested in helping.

Liz, what an unexpected and wonderful surprise to have my work featured on your blog. Thank-you so much!
Also, here’s a link to my new blog (the address has changed). It includes some info about my process: http://thehorseandbird.wordpress.com
