Thursday it was nearly 60 degrees. Yesterday, we had about six inches of snow. Today it was in the high 30s and all that pristine white snow called to me. It was a perfect day to ride.

Zelda and I stayed out of the woods — there was still a lot of snow falling from the trees. Big, heavy pieces of snow and ice. I didn’t make it out until the afternoon, but even then there were great untouched swathes of snow. It’s absolutely irresistible.
Of course it was irresistible to others as well. Zelda didn’t mind the cross country skiers much, but for some reason the snowshoers were very, very scary.
The snow was so wet and heavy that even late in the day, many of the trees were still bent over by the weight of the snow. Some of the same silver birches that shone like a beacon in the sun just a few days ago.

Horses and snow are beautiful together!
Love this. It brings back my very favorite memories of childhood of riding out alone in the snow, the muffled silence of snow, the swish of my horse’s hooves moving through the dry powder and the sounds of him clearing his nose of the cold.
I use images I particularly like with my work. Would you let me use yours of the pasture with the fence and snow at the top? I’m only doing it for myself, not publishing it, nothing commercial but I’d like to ask you if you’d be Ok with it since you do it commercially. I ask whenever I can track down whose pictures they are. I’ll put a credit on it even though only family and real life friends will see it. When I’ve shared my stuff it’s without images. You can email me if you like, jspinner2@gmail.com
I am flattered that you’d like to use my photo and am happy to have you do it. I will email you a larger copy!
Thank you, that’ so nice of you.
