Looking for something to mix up your winter routine? I signed up for a series of free Yoga for Riders classes. These short (10-minute) videos are a great way to start your day or when you need a break from sitting at your desk. The focus is on postural awareness, opening up your chest, shoulders and upper body, and learning a quick warm up flow to prepare you for riding.
I don’t know about you, but when it’s less than 20 degrees out, my enthusiasm for riding goes way down. It doesn’t help that my fingers get so cold (even with gloves) that I can’t stay out that long. So during the colder days I’m trying to focus on things that will make me a better rider when I’m back in the saddle — swimming, weight lifting and now, yoga. I have a lot of flexibility to regain, lost when I had my accident and not fully recovered yet.
This Thursday, January 23, at 1pm there will be a live class that focuses on the Top 5 Poses for Riders. Even though the instructor is in Costa Rica (making me jealous), I will probably be online trying it out.
What do you do to stay fit in the winter?
