Of all the ways to use old horse show ribbons, this is certainly one of the most rewarding.

Diane Charipar of Reddick, Fla., accepts donations of horse show ribbons that she sells on eBay — and then donates the proceeds to charitable organizations such as the Humane Society of Marion County. To date she’s sold more than 1,200 ribbons.

Several well known riders are supporting her efforts by donating autographed ribbons. Chester Weber, Karen O’Connor, Leslie Law, Larry Poulin and Peter Gray have all given her ribbons to sell. The ribbon from O’Connor was one that had been awarded to Teddy.

The auction is currently underway for a triple header of ribbons signed by Olympians O’Connor, Law and Gray.
