Will Orb take the Preakness?

Orb is now the odds-on favorite for the Preakness. He’s coming into the race having won his last five . . . but he’s drawn the #1 post position which is one of the least favorable starting positions.

The Preakness is known as more of a strategy race than the Derby. So it’s a good sign that Joel Rosario won the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico today on Fiftyshadesofhay. Rosario will have a good feel for the track.

There are only nine horses in the race; six raced in the Derby and three are fresh. Of the six who started in the Derby two have had significant jockey changes — D. Wayne Lukas replaced Jon Court with Mike Smith and Edward Plesa, Jr. replaced Elvis Trujillo with John Velazquez.

Take a look at Orb breezing at Belmont on Monday. He looked good. Let’s hope for all the Triple Crown hopefuls he shows this good form tomorrow.
